Who we are

We are a group of students part of the IB program at Lamar Academy brought together by a shared purpose and a deeply personal connection to metabolic health. Each of us has close family members affected by metabolic disorders, and those experiences shaped our commitment to understanding, preventing, and ultimately helping eradicate conditions like MAFLD and MASH in our community. What started as conversations in classrooms and other curriculum-related projects grew into a student-led initiative determined to make liver-health education accessible in the RGV.

Our work is shaped by a shared interest in understanding the health challenges that impact our community in the RGV. As we continue exploring fields like science, healthcare, and community advocacy, this initiative gives us a meaningful way to contribute now, not later. If you read our words and hear a clear, steady purpose behind them, that’s exactly what we aim for.
